Sorry, forgot to say…
When I’ve had the “Internal server error” message then 9 times out of 10 it’s been caused by the .htaccess file, usually when restoring a backup to my local machine and forgetting to set the restore parameters (in Akeeba Backup/kickstart.php).
Had it twice on my “live” site; once after upgrading from J3 —> J4 and once after moving hosting. In both cases it was easily sorted by renaming .htaccess to htaccess.old and then renaming the default htaccess.txt to .htaccess
